Hey, seniors!
First off—CONGRATULATIONS! You’re so close to the finish line, and that deserves to be celebrated. One of the best ways to mark this huge milestone? A senior portrait session that captures your personality, your style, and your journey. Whether you're hiking desert trails in Arizona or keeping it cool in downtown vibes, I’m here to make sure your session is easy, relaxed, and (most importantly) a blast.
So let’s dive into 7 tips to help you get the most out of your senior photo experience!

1. Pick a Location That Feels Like You
Whether you're a desert lover who loves the golden light in the cacti-lined landscapes or a city soul who thrives in murals and coffee shops, your location should reflect YOU. I travel around Arizona, so if you’re dreaming of Sedona red rocks or downtown Phoenix vibes, I’ve got you covered.
2. Plan Your Outfits Ahead of Time
Bring a couple of outfit options—think one casual, one dressy, and one that really shows off your personality (yes, varsity jackets, band tees, or prom dresses totally count!). Solid colors or subtle prints work great with Arizona’s epic scenery. Avoid neon unless it’s super intentional.
3. Don’t Forget the Details
Shoes, accessories, hair, and makeup matter! The little details help tell your story. If you’re doing your own makeup, go a bit bolder than usual—it photographs better. And be sure to clean those shoes if they’ll be in the shot!
4. Props & Personal Touches = Magic
Love your guitar? Obsessed with books or your Jeep? Into sports, painting, or your dog? Bring it! Including props makes your photos more personal and way more fun. (Bonus: They give you something to do with your hands.)
5. Trust the Process—And Your Photographer 😉
You don’t have to know how to pose or model. That’s my job! I’ll guide you every step of the way, from how to stand to when to laugh (even if it’s fake at first—it turns real, promise). Come ready to have fun, and we’ll create some magic together.
6. Timing is Everything
Arizona light is no joke, but it's also GORGEOUS. I typically shoot during golden hour—early morning or just before sunset—for that dreamy, soft glow. It’s worth setting the alarm or adjusting your dinner plans. Trust me.
7. Relax & Have Fun With It!
This session is all about you. Play your favorite music, bring your best friend or hype squad if you want, and don’t be afraid to be silly. The best photos happen when you’re genuinely having a good time.
Your senior portraits are a once-in-a-lifetime thing, and they should be as unique as you are.
My goal?
To make sure you leave your session feeling confident, celebrated, and so excited to see your photos.
